The first human space ship to reach warp speed, by Dr. Zefram Cochrane, drew the attention of Vulcan scientists who waited for this moment to welcome us into the first contact between humans and advanced intelligent beings from other planets.
This day would be the first day of the future that we enjoy in the Star Trek franchise.
