First integrated circuit patented

On February 6, 1959, Jack Kirby from Texas Instruments patented an integrated circuit.
It was a cute little mostly silicon block that we commonly mostly refer to as “microchip.

Circuits printed on surfaces are a well known sight in electronics. Circuits are essential for everything that involves calculations.
What was important was that these circuits were printed on silicon, which made it durable and small.
The further development of integrated circuits, or microchips was what helped to make the elaborate electronics of today that do incredible things while still fitting in our homes and even our pockets.
