James T. Kirk, future captain of the USS Enterprise and USS Enterprise-A, will be born on March 22, 2233.
According to the Star Trek stories.
🚀
There is a little bit of confusion about the birthday of James Kirk.
Creator of the Star Trek show, Gene Roddenberry, stated in the book “The Making of Star Trek”, published in 1968, that James T Kirk was “born in a small town in Iowa” on March 22, 2228.
When in 1985 Riverside, Iowa requested to be the future birthplace with the goal of putting a cool memorial to make their town extra special, Gene Roddenberry happily gave them his blessing.
But….then in 1993 the book “The Star Trek Chronology: The History of the Future.” was published which claimed that James T. Kirk was born on 2233 and every canon statement after that used this year.
Somehow, the captain notorious for often losing his shirt also managed to lose 5 years.
But to be fair, stranger things have happened on the more than 5 year mission of the starship Enterprise.
