Herbert A. Gilbert was way ahead of his time on April 17, 1963, when he filed his patent for an electronic cigarette producing nicotine steam instead of smoke.
Though the patent was granted in 1965, Herbert never got to produce the first vaper because in the 60ies smoking was still considered cool and acceptable almost everywhere.
