It’s cheap, it’s sweet, and it’s certainly unique,
But it’s not everyone’s favorite treat to sneak.
Some say it tastes like sugar wax or even plastic,
But for others, the flavor is classic.
Candy corn has been around for over a century,
Created by George Renninger, an employee of Wunderlee Candy Company.
It was originally made by hand, using a process called “corn starch casting,”
But now it’s mass-produced, with a taste that’s everlasting.
As for the origins of this holiday, it’s hard to say,
But let’s imagine it was created in a silly, over-the-top way.
Perhaps a group of candy corn enthusiasts banded together,
And declared a day for all to enjoy, no matter the weather.

So on this day, let’s celebrate this colorful confection,
With loved ones or alone, in a candy corn-fueled direction.
Try out new recipes, mix it with other sweets,
Or just enjoy it as is, in colorful little treats.
Happy Candy Corn Day, may your day be sweet and bright,
And if you’re not a fan, it’s okay, we won’t bite.
