A yearly citizen science survey of birds in the Northern Hemisphere.π¦
The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is an annual survey of birds conducted by the National Audubon Society in the Northern-Western Hemisphere.
The Christmas Bird Count is performed by volunteer birdwatchers and is the longest-running citizen science survey in the world, with over 100 years of data. Participants count birds in a designated 15-mile (24-km) diameter circle on one calendar day between December 14 and January 5 each year.
Data collected by volunteers help researchers track the long-term health and status of bird populations.
