March 6 is approximately the date in 1790 when John Greenwood, personal dentist of George Washington, invented the dental foot engine.
John Greenwood got inspired by his mother’s spinning wheel where the kinetic energy from the pedal made the wheel spin. He rebuild a spare spinning wheel to make it do the same, except for it to power a smaller rotating device. In this case a tooth drill. 100% clean energy!
Dentists do it with a smile on their face!
