Since:
Ancient Times

Fontinalia was an ancient Roman festival to honor Fontus, the god of wells and springs.
πŸ’§

During the celebrations of Fontinalia fountains and wellheads throughout the city were decorated with garlands of flowers and petals and flowers were thrown in to float around like merrily colored confetti.
This is a day to celebrate water sources.
Many of us take clean drinkable water from a tap in the house for granted.
Many other people on this world are not so lucky.
Celebrate when you feel grateful for the water supply you have.
