🍬

Fudge, oh fudge, it’s a candy so sweet,
With a history that’s truly neat.
It started one historical day,
When a batch of caramel went astray.

The word fudge comes from a very old tale
When a baker messed up, he started to wail
He cried “Oh fudge!” instead of something worse
And the name stuck, it became a curse

Fudge has different meanings, it’s true,
It can mean a mistake you must redo.
Or it can mean a way to avoid a truth,
And instead tell a lie that’s uncouth.

But when it comes to candy so sweet,
Fudge is a treat that can’t be beat.
It’s different from other chewy sweets,
Because it’s creamy, with no hard beats.

First, you need to heat up some cream and sugar
Add some butter, keep stirring, don’t let it get too eager
Then, you gotta beat it, beat it real good
Until it gets thick and creamy, like it should

Fudge is different from caramel and toffee
It’s not so chewy, it’s more like soft taffy
It’s got a creamy texture, melts in your mouth
It’s a sweet treat, that’s what it’s all about

So, grab a piece of fudge, and enjoy the ride
Let the sweetness fill you up, let it provide
And if you’re feeling a bit down, just say “fudge it!”
It’s a candy swear word, just don’t overdo it!

“Avoid any diet that discourages the use of hot fudge.”
