International Goof Off Day

When Monica Dufour was 10 years old she liked to listen to the radio shows from her grandfather William Chase.
When she heard her grandfather ask listeners to call in ideas for holidays she decided to call in with a different name, disguising her voice and told him there should be a “Goof Off Day”.

When a reporter from the local newspaper heard Monica on the radio, he thought this was a great idea and put his support for Goof Off Day in the paper.
When grandpa Chase discovered his grandchild was the goofy caller, he showed her the paper and no more reason was needed to make this a real holiday.
And that is how Goof Off Day was officially added to the famous “Chase’s Calendar of Events”.
