In parts of Germany Walpurgis Night became more witch themed and changed into Hexennacht
🧙🧙♀️🧙♂️

Hexennacht took the witch theme from Walpurgis Night and over time removed the negative superstitious elements, celebrating witches as fictional characters or just practitioners of pagan religions.
Now nobody had to fear being hunted and killed for being different anymore, Hexennacht became a celebration for fun loving people wanting to spread cheer.
People who simply have fun dressing up as a witch and do witch themed celebrations celebrate Hexennacht as a pop cultural holiday.
Pagans celebrate Hexennacht because for many “witch” has become synonymous with performing rituals and herb lore.
The Satanic Temple celebrate Hexennacht for it’s symbolism of tolerance towards other religions and remembrance of innocent people who fell victim to the deplorable superstitious witch hunts and awareness that witch hunts still happen in the present.
