No Bra Day was originally known as “BRA Day”.
The first BRA Day event was held in Toronto, Canada at Women’s College Hospital and Toronto General Hospital on October 19, 2011.
Dr. Brown noticed that women who underwent mastectomy had very different opinions on doing reconstructive breast surgery.
Therefore the function of BRA Day was to spread awareness and information about breast cancer and the consequences to hopefully make the subject and it’s choices easier to deal with.
Later this event was fixed on October 13.
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
