Commemorates the restorationΒ of theΒ English monarchy in May 1660.
Before then a lot of confusing take-overs concerning vikings and quarrels with neighbouring countries happened.

Also known as “Shick Shack Day” or “Oak and Nettle Day”.

Celebrated by wearing sprigs of oak leaves and/or oak apples

Oak apple :
– oak gall caused by larvae of a cynipid wasp.
But… that is not exactly what this day is about.
