It’s time to break out your rock hammers and celebrate the oldest and most durable natural resource of them all: rocks! On January 7th every year, we honor the majestic mountains, the towering boulders, and the ancient fossils that make up the earth’s crust.
🏔️

Why should we celebrate these seemingly mundane geological formations?
Rocks are integral to our planet’s history and formation, and they hold valuable information about the past.
From the majestic peaks of mountains to the smallest pebbles, rocks are truly fascinating.
Rocks are the foundation of our planet and have played a crucial role in shaping our environment, our history, and even our culture.
From the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains to the tiny pebbles on the beach,  rocks are truly a force to be celebrated.
Each type of rock tells its own unique story, from the way it was formed to the changes it has gone through over time.
Many rocks even contain fossils, giving us a glimpse into the ancient past.
Old rocks hold a wealth of information about the earth’s history, geology and the evolution of life on our planet.
They also provide a unique and beautiful landscape for us to enjoy, whether it be through hiking, rock climbing, or simply admiring them from afar.
