t’s time to grab your playtime partner and get ready to celebrate International Playdate Day on January 21st!
This holiday was created by Ilona Viluma back in 2017, and it’s a day dedicated to the joys of playing and friendship.

A playdate is apre-arranged playtime with another person or group of people.
It’s a chance to get together, have some fun, and make some memories.
Play dates are also known as an opportunity for children to spread germs and for parents to silently judge each other’s parenting skills while pretending to chat about the weather.

Of course, there are pros and cons to playdates.
On the one hand, playdates can be a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
They can also provide a chance for kids to develop social skills and learn how to interact with others.
On the other hand, playdates can sometimes be a little chaotic, with lots of kids running around and making noise.

If you’re thinking about setting up a play date for your pets, here are a few tips to ensure that everyone has a pawsitive experience:

  1. Have a designated human referee:
Somebody needs to keep an eye on things, so make sure you appoint a responsible human to make sure no one gets hurt.
  2. Choose the right location:
A pet play date can get pretty rowdy, so pick a venue with plenty of space and preferably no breakable items.
  3. Never let a predatory animal have a play date with a prey animal!
Despite overly cute videos of different species being BFF’s, instincts are hard wired and accidents can happen in a nano-second. There is a reason you don’t see videos of matches gone horribly wrong.
  4. Do a background check:
Before letting your pets mingle, make sure they don’t have a history of biting, scratching, or excessive drooling.
  5. Set some ground rules:
Make sure all pets understand that chasing tails and barking at squirrels is only allowed in designated areas.
  6. Provide snacks:
Treats are a great way to keep the peace and to make sure everyone is on their best behavior. Just make sure to bring enough for everyone, or things could get a little bit furry.
  7. Pack a first aid kit:
Just in case of any scratches, bites, or other pet-related emergencies.

And most importantly, always remember: when it comes to play dates, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Now go out there and have some fun!

⛹

Believe it or not, playdates aren’t just for kidsor pets!
Adults can also benefit from playdates, whether it’s playing board games with friends or going on a fun adventure together.
As we grow up, we may forget the importance of play in our lives. That’s why it’s important to have play dates with our friends, to let our hair down, and have a little fun!

So, here are a few tips to help you safely arrange a play date for grown-up humans:

  1. Make sure you have all your safety gear ready.
A helmet may not be necessary, but a good pair of shoes that can withstand a game of hopscotch or a friendly game of tag can go a long way.
  2. Plan the perfect activity.
Whether it’s a board game night, a picnic in the park, or a karaoke competition, make sure you choose something that will bring out the kid in everyone.
  3. Set some ground rules.
No roughhousing, no jumping off of tall structures, and absolutely no trying to relive your high school glory days on the field.
  4. Have a first-aid kit on hand.
In case of any scrapes or bruises, you’ll be prepared to take care of each other.
  5. Don’t forget the snacks!
Nothing says “play date” like a plate of cookies or a bowl of popcorn to share with friends.

By following these simple tips, you’ll be well on your way to a fun and safe play date for grown-up humans.
Who knows, you may even have so much fun that you’ll want to do it all over again!
