On December 21, let’s give a hooray,
It’s Ribbon Candy Day, the colorful display,
Sweet, wavy and oh so pretty,
A treat for the eyes and taste buds, oh so witty.
Ribbon candy, ribbon candy,
A Christmas treat, so very handy,
With hues of red and green and white,
It’s a festive sight, that’s quite a delight.
Not like any candy you’ve ever seen,
It’s long and thin and curls so clean,
It’s crunchy, smooth, and melts in your mouth,
A nostalgic treat from the north to the south.
With origins in the 19th century,
This candy’s history is quite contrary,
It was a candy made for all year round,
But now it’s popular when Yuletide comes around.
Judy Pancoast started this holiday,
To spread joy and cheer in a special way,
So, get some ribbon candy and share it around,
It’s a perfect way to spread love that abounds.
Gather your loved ones and decorate the tree,
And savor the sweetness of this candy so free,
Or meet new folks and spread some cheer,
A little gesture that goes a long way, my dear.
So, enjoy this holiday with all your might,
And if anyone asks, just say Wild Calendar gave you the right,
To celebrate this candy that’s oh so grand,
Happy Ribbon Candy Day, from land to land.
Ribbon candy, ribbon candy,
A Christmas treat, so very handy,
With hues of red and green and white,
It’s a festive sight, that’s quite a delight!
