Talk Like a Grizzled Prospector Day may be inspired by Talk Like a Pirate Day. Because it adds flavor to a dreary day to add spice to boring talks and getting those not (yet) in-the-know hornswoggled.
The holiday also commemorates the history of the California Gold Rush in the second half of the 19th century.
California was flooded by a horde of hundred of thousands gold hungry Johnny Newcomes looking a get rich quick bonanza!
This was great for the local economies and devastating for the ecology and native inhabitants.
It was one of the moments in history repeating itself.
Just like how the internet was/is rushed by people mining cryptocurrencies, click farming and advertisement milkers.
The prospectors’ lingo has been put to pasture, but greed is still panning out, consarn!
