The World Day of War Orphans was created by  SOS Enfants en Detresses to raise awareness for vulnerable groups that are victimized in times of war

January 6th is World Day of War Orphans.
This day honors children who have lost one or both parents due to war.
The day was established by the International Association of War Orphans in order to raise awareness about the plight of war orphans and to advocate for their rights and needs.

War may end, but the scars it leaves on children can last a lifetime.
War orphans often face unique challenges, such as poverty, lack of access to education, lack of access to healthcare and an overall lack of support.
They may also struggle with trauma and emotional difficulties due to the loss of their parents.
