Chagas disease, also known as trypanosomiasis, is a disease caused by bites from “kissing bugs” which spread the tropical parasite Trypanosoma cruzi.
Chagas disease often leads to heart problems and can be fatal.
There is no cure or vaccine yet for chagas disease.
Which is why research on chagas disease needs all the support it can get.
